N/Assembly polls: PDP asks INEC to announce winners in Yobe

The People Democratic Party (PDP) in Yobe State has urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to announce the winners of Yobe South Senatorial district election and that of Potiskum/Nangere federal constituency.

State chairman of the party, Amb Umar El-Gash, made the call at a news conference held in Damaturu, the state capital yesterday.

Amb El-Gash appealed to INEC to “adhere to the electoral act by announcing the winners, especially our candidates in Yobe Zone A and B; Eng. Abubakar Waziri and Senator Halilu Mazagane who won convincingly without further delay.”

He said the party has commended the people of the Yobe State for their doggedness and peaceful conduct during last Saturday’s Presidential and National Assembly elections.

“This victory is a reflection of the people’s yearning for positive change which the party represents,” he said.
