What is the fate of the 300,000 applicants who are yet to be employed in the Federal Government scheme known as N-power? We have waited for our names to be released, but it seems we have been sidelined. Apparently, the Federal Government is reluctant to employ us.
Initially, they gave the impression that they would employ all the 500,000 applicants, but it later turned out to be false.
A lot of people were surprised when 200,000 names were released on November 20, 2016, out of the 500,000 applicants. Consequently, we were told that our names would be out in December 2016. But we waited to no avail.
Later, we heard that organisers of the scheme had opened a new portal for fresh applications. I was dismayed when I heard it, but it appeared to be true. Opening a new portal for fresh applications is not the way out.
Government should release the names of the remaining 300,000 applicants. After this, those who did not make it could be encouraged to apply through the new portal. That is the best option.
President Muhammadu Buhari should please come to our rescue and save the image of the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led government.
