The stage is now set for the 2026 N-Youth League Cup (NYLC) Super 8 Championship following the official draw ceremony on Tuesday at the VIP Lounge of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.
The championship will kick off on Saturday, May 23, with playoff matches in Eket, Akwa Ibom State, while the final is scheduled for May 30.
The winners of the two groups will battle for the title after each team has played three matches in the round-robin phase.
Speaking at the ceremony, NYLC president, Robinson Adakosa, described the competition as a vital platform for discovering and nurturing the next generation of Nigerian football stars.
“Today represents more than just a football event. It is a celebration of vision, development, opportunity and the future of Nigerian football,” Adakosa said.
He commended the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and the National Sports Commission (NSC) for their continued support for youth football development, noting that their backing has strengthened the vision of building a professionally structured youth league capable of impacting Nigerian football for generations.
Adakosa also congratulated the clubs that qualified for the Super 8, saying their emergence reflected discipline, consistency and technical quality throughout the season. He urged all participating teams to embrace fair play and sportsmanship during the tournament.
Following the draw, Group A features Plateau United U-19, Supreme Kings Abia, and the winners of the playoffs between Kwara FA and Pepperest Academy, as well as Sporting Supreme and House of Prayer.
Group B consists of Darazo FC, Grassrunners Ikenne, and the playoff winners between Kano Pillars U-19 and Right2Win, alongside Mailantarki Cars and Sunshine FC U-19.
