Preparation is in top gear as the N-Youth Sports Academy (N-YSA) Basketball Team is set for the second edition of Chief of Defence Staff Democracy Day Basketball Championship.

The CDS basketball event slated to dunk-off at Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Package B, Abuja from June 13th – 18th, 2025 is expected to feature other basketball teams from other parts of the country.

Similarly, it will be another competitive year as the N-YSA team is set to attend the championship and other forthcoming competitions that include, basketball division one and two league respectively later in the year.

However, N-YSA basketball team will be basking on the euphoria of their remarkable performance at the North Central Basketball Competition held in Jos, Plateau State in February, 2025 to exhibit their sporting prowess at the CDS basketball championship.

The N-YSA basketball team comprises of athletes and players under 100% sport scholarship put in good effort from the beginning of the event to lift up the trophy but their effort was rewarded with runner-up position against the host state, Plateau.

The Jos tournament featured basketball teams from Kogi, Nasarawa, Niger, Benue, Kwara, FCT ably represented by N-YSA team, and host state.

It could be recalled that N-Youth Sports Academy (N-YSA) Basketball Clinic held at Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja has been yielding positive result.

The basketball clinic which featured over 200 players was another key achievement programme hosted by the academy in FCT and its environs.

Meanwhile, in addition to sustainability and creating enabling environment for the elite teams in both male and female category, the academy management has set up basketball camp for the safety and comfort of the players with basic amenities provided.
