N1.2 bn fraud: Former FCT Minister”s son remanded in Kuje prison

 Former FCT minister Bala Mohammed’s son, Shamsudeen Bala has been remanded in Kuje prison by an Abuja federal high court.

Justice Dimgba ordered his remand pending the ruling of the bail application slated for Friday Feb 3.
 
Daily Trust had reported that The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) will today arraign Shamsudeen Bala, son of a former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Senator Bala Mohammed, before Justice N. Dimgba of a Federal High Court, Abuja, over an alleged N1.2 billion fraud.
 
A statement on Tuesday from EFCC spokesman Wilson Uwujaren said Bala, who is being charged along with four companies – Bird Trust Agro Allied Limited, Intertrans Global Logistic Ltd, Diakin Telecommunications Ltd and Bal-Vac Mining Nigeria Ltd, is facing a 15-count charge bordering on money laundering offence.
