Abdallah Tahir Ahmad popularly known in the Hausa movie industry as Al-Kinana has been a Nigerian business man based in Saudi Arabia. He recently returns to Nigeria to invest N12 million in the production of a Hausa movie titled Kukan Karshe.
The producer stated that he did greater part of his conventional studies in Kano before moving to Asia particularly Saudi Arabia on a business mission. After completing his studies he began the pursuit of his business mission within the shores of Nigeria and Saudi Arabia, the producer said he was involved in Umrah and Hajj services since 1991. According to him, he returned to Nigeria and ventured into advertisement.
Gradually according to the producer, he discovered business avenue in making movies and a chance to actualize his dreams, “Actually, movie has been part of my dreams for quite a long time, I could remember while in Saudi I usually frequent some Arabian movie series locations. I have seen how things were done there and that has made me develop interest in movie making. However, when I returned to Nigeria I did a silent and insight assessment of the Hausa movie, of course if I am going into movie production certainly it is going to be the Hausa industry because that’s the region I came from and that is the phenomena I understood more than others,” he said.
The producer also revealed that the new movie he was producing comes with a lot of differences adding that it would definitely touches lives as it is set to address a certain societal issues, “Kukan Karshe which literary translate to mean ‘The last Cry’ is a movie based on act of blackmail and in this content it is a political blackmail against a good and dedicated president based on democratic setting. We have tried to copy the Nigerian system of governance in which we have tried to portrait the federal government, the security agencies and all principle actors in accordance to how they operate in real life situations.
In this movie we have solicited for the support of the police, road safety and the army especially now that they were usually misrepresented in most of our movies. This is a movie that would lift the Hausa movie standard and the first of its Kind to feature some security agencies in their real form in terms of costume. It is a movie that explains a lot of untold stories of government activities and also it has a multi-facet dimension in terms of content composition.
We have also ensures that the movie has a lot of traditional content that has complied with all set demands of the regulatory body in the movie industry. It is going to be one of the Hausa movies that will defile all huddles militating against the industry,” he stressed.
The producer also revealed that it was not easy to be in a new business environment without encountering issues here and there even though he claimed to have spent good time studying the practicing environment. He added that he got over most of these challenges as he was introduced into the sector by a reputable member of the industry and most of the practitioners had been very cooperative in seeing that the new movie has become a success.
The movie is said to have  about 87 casts and the lead role is being played by Sadiq Sani Sadiq and Kabiru Maikaba while Samira Saje plays the lead actress role. Other artists in the movie include actors like Shehu Hassan Kano, Mikhai’il bn-Hassan, Bashir Kaya among others.
According to the producer of the movie, it will be released into the market this march, “We have finished all arrangement to release 1 and 2 into the market this month and we are now working on the 3 and 4 parts of the movie. However, the movie was shot in Kano, Jigawa and some part of Niger republic,” concluded Al-Kinana.
