N2.1bn: Court orders Dokpesi to open defence

A Federal HighCourt in Abuja has ordered the founder of Daar Communications PLC, Raymond Dokpesi to open his defence in the alleged money laundering.

Justice John Tsoho on Wednesday rejected Dokpesi’s no-case-submission and ordered him to open his defence at the next adjourned date.

The judge ruled that the 14 witnesses presented by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have made out a prima facie against the defendant.

Dokpesi was accused of receiving the sum of N2.1 billion from the office of the National Security Adviser (NSA) without contract.

The case has been adjourned to February 20 and 21, 2019.
