A coalition of civil society organisations (CSOs) has commended Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi state over his style of leadership.
Briefing newsmen in Abuja, Dr Amb Lukman Mahmoud, the coalition’s National Secretary, specifically applauded the governor for payment of N75,000 Minimum Wage; front payment of pension and gratuity; approved retirement age for teachers increased to 65 years Instead of 60 years and 40 years of service; completion of an ultra-modern secretariat for civil servants; provision of utility vehicles to ministries and boards; and timely payment of civil servants’ salaries.
The coalition commended Governor Idris for fulfilling his promise by paying the minimum wage salary to civil servants.
This gesture, it said demonstrates Idris’ commitment to their welfare and his resolve to improve their standard of living. Specifically, we acknowledge his administration’s efforts in:
Mahmoud said: “We call on civil servants in Kebbi State to reciprocate the Governor’s kind gestures by rededicating themselves to their duties and working tirelessly to deliver quality services to the people.
“We would particularly like to recognise Governor Nasir Idris for his visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to the welfare of civil servants in Kebbi State. His administration’s efforts to promote peace and security, infrastructure development, economic empowerment, youth empowerment, and women empowerment are commendable.
“We wish to express our sincere gratitude to Governor Nasir Idris for his exemplary leadership and commitment to the development of Kebbi State. We also thank the members of the Coalition of Civil Society Organisations for their tireless efforts in promoting good governance and accountability in Kebbi State.
