The President’s Comprehensive Response Plan for HIV/AIDS aims to avail 80 million men and women aged 15 and older knowledge of their HIV status, enrol an additional 600,000 eligible adults and children on antiretroviral and provide treatment for 244,000 HIV pregnant women for prevention of mother to child transmission of HIV among others.
The agency met with AIDS stakeholders, including donors and implementation partners, last week to consider key areas of work for focal officials at state level.
The officials are to better support their states in operational plans for HIV into next year.
State agencies for control of AIDS have said their planning needed more work.
