The National Agency for Foods and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has arrested a herbalist in Kano for allegedly using formalin – a substance used in preserving dead bodies – in manufacturing his herbal medicines.
The suspect was arrested in Sabon Gari area of Kano in an ongoing operation by some operatives of the agency.

The Director of the agency in Kano, Shaba Muhammed, said they arrested the suspect in collaboration with the Investigation and Enforcement Unit from Kaduna State.
He added that the suspect has been taken to the zonal command in Kaduna under the unit for further investigations.
