NAFDAC implements $2.3 grant for regulatory operations

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), says it has implemented a total of $2,305,695.03 budget lines from Global Fund’s Resilient and Sustainable Systems for Health (GF-RSSH) grant Cycle 6.

Director General of the agency, Prof Mojisola Christianah made the disclosure yesterday while briefing newsmen in Abuja.

She said the National Agency for the Control of AIDS (NACA) is the principal recipient of the GF-RSSH, adding that the Global Fund is an international financing institution dedicated to combating HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria. 

She said the Global Fund support has had a profound impact on NAFDAC’s goals of ensuring the availability of safe and high-quality ATM health products to Nigerians.

She said, “Through improved pharmacovigilance, product quality screening, laboratory analysis, and traceability, NAFDAC can proactively identify and mitigate potential risks associated with pharmaceutical products.”
