The Kaduna State Coordinator of National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), Dadi Nantim Mullah has enjoined operators of bakeries and sachet water factories to make cleanliness their top priority.
Speaking during a raid to seal up bakeries and sachet water factories, he said that the agency will not relent its effort in going after business owners operating below the required standard.
Our reporter observed during the inspection that some of them operate in buildings  covered with zinc while they runs  bakeries near the water factory, which is located side by side with a public bathroom and toilet.
He said: “Processing companies should not be located next to a grave yard, an abattoir or public toilet because they can introduce contamination into the products. The building has to be constructed with compliance materials and not zinc with adequate provision for places to store raw materials as well as finished products. Also, there has to be good equipment that will do hygienic mixing and packaging,”
