The Edo State branch of the Nasrul-Lahi-L-Fatih Society (NASFAT) has donated clothes and a public address system to the Muslim inmates in Benin Correctional Centres.

Speaking during the event, Benin branch NASFAT chairman, Olajide Kaseem, said the donation was in fulfilment of the promise made to the Muslim inmates during a previous visit to the inmates of the centre.

“We were here last month, and they told us that the centre’s Mosque lacked a public addressing system and we promised to provide it and other items for them.

“Today, we are here to present it and other items including clothes for observing prayers for both the male and female Muslim inmates at the correctional centre,” Kaseem said.

He said the visit was to identify with the Muslim inmates, admonish them, see how they are faring and assist in the possible way that they can.

“You should see your being here as an act of Allah, but you shouldn’t be discouraged because there is life after here and we are here to encourage you that you are not alone,” he said.

He also advised them to be of good behaviour when they regain their freedom, assuring them that NASFAT will not abandon them.
