Sonny Agassi, the Director General (DG) of the Nasarawa Geographic Information Service (NAGIS), marked his 54th birthday anniversary on Sunday by distributing N100,000 each to 100 vulnerable individuals in his hometown of Agwede, located in the Obi local government area of Nasarawa State.

The beneficiaries were carefully selected from the five electoral wards that constitute the Jenkwe development area within the Obi local government council.

The event saw the attendance of several prominent figures, including the Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State, Dr. Emmanuel Akabe, Senator Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, former Governor of Nasarawa State, traditional rulers, and politicians.

Agassi pledged his commitment to continue giving back to both his community and the state.

He expressed gratitude for the support he has received and emphasized the importance of community service and empowerment.

Deputy Governor Dr. Emmanuel Akabe praised Agassi for his humanitarian efforts aimed at alleviating the suffering of the people.

He encouraged other well-meaning individuals to follow Agassi’s example.

Akabe also urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the money and to extend similar acts of kindness to those who were not beneficiaries.

Senator Al-Makura commended Agassi for his generosity and dedication to his community.

He called on everyone present, regardless of their capacity, to support their communities through any form of palliative measures, emphasizing that every effort, no matter how small, counts.
