The latest hammer of eviction landed on the quartet of Angelic Voices from Calabar and another lone ranger, Stev, from Bauchi zone whose eviction from the show came to an abrupt end over the weekend as a result of the majority votes cast by audiences watching the show across the globe.

Although the two evicted singers were said to have given their best at the last show, they were eventually booted out of the race as their best were not good enough to keep them afloat in the struggle for the star prize money and other possibilities.

Eviction began on August 15 with Manasseh from the Kaduna regional finals and Morgan from Jos emerging the first pair to exit the show after the results of the voting revealed they were the least voted for contestants for the week.

Manasseh sang “Life Magazine” by Boyz II Men the previous week in a truly stellar performance. Sadly it was not enough to keep him in the show. Morgan, who gave a pitchy performance last week of Lemar’s “Caroline”, was also shocked to be evicted so soon.

Speaking after the show, the Calabar-based singers said it was God’s verdict for them to have left the show at this crucial stage.

“We have tried our best to be in the show but the votes cast by viewers could not retain us in the show; we strongly believe that that is God’s time for us to leave the scene. Basically our eviction was not because of the songs we rendered last week at all. To be candid, our eviction today did not come to us as surprise as one of us had dreamt about it…that is why we are calm and focused to take another step in our career”, they said.

Speaking at the interactive session, the Managing Director of Mnet Africa, Biola Alabi, said that organising the reality show was a typical way of exhibiting Nigerian talents to the whole world.

Alabi also said it was part of the company’s way of promoting the cultural value of the country, adding that they would continue to give Nigerian artistes the opportunity to demonstrate their talents to outside world.
