The Sallah holiday on Tuesday stalled the judgment of a Federal High Court in Lagos against convicted cross dresser, Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, over naira abuse and his prosecution by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The court convicted him on April 5, following his guilty plea but reserved sentencing until April 9 (today), and ordered that Bobrisky be remanded in custody of the EFCC. However, the case could not proceed following the declaration of Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday as public holidays by the federal government to mark the Eid el-Fitr.

A new date is expected to be communicated by the court to the parties involved.

Recall that EFCC, on April 4, filed six counts against the cross dresser bordering on naira mutilation and money laundering and he was arraigned on April 5, before Justice Abimbola Awogboro.
