An online news portal, Sahara Reporters reported the Tundras are in addition to four stretch limousine cars that were allegedly purchased for the movement of VIPs.
 The Limousines were parked at the headquarters of the Total Radar Coverage of Nigeria (TRACON) grounds in Abuja yesterday, the report said.
A statement signed by Supo Atobatele, the General Manager, Public Affairs, NAMA denied that the agency bought the cars.
The statement reads,  “The attention of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency(NAMA) ,has been drawn to a frivolous, malicious and mischievous report being bandied by an online news outfit to the effect that the agency bought  four Limousines  along with  other brands  for the ministry of aviation or its leadership.
“We hereby make it categorically clear to the unsuspecting public that this evil story  as being promoted, is patently false in its entirety and calculated to put the agency and the office of the minister into disrepute” it said.
“For the avoidance of doubt, the said Limousines belong to a concessionaire who is running a VIP shuttle service for Non-Schedule Operators (Charter flights)” he explained.
“The said vehicles were never on the inventory of NAMA and we would like to declare with all emphasis that we do not run ground services as we are statutorily an air navigation service provider” he said.
“We would like to advice that the media be weary of unconfirmed stories from mischief makers who are bent on creating chaos in the aviation industry,” Supo said.
The corruption scandal rocking the aviation ministry over the purchase of two BMW amoured cars at the cost of $1.6 million (N225 million) for the aviation minister Mrs. Stella Oduah by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority keep gathering dust, yet another scandal is unfolding. The cars’ purchases are allegedly not captured by the budget, the House of Assembly has said.
