Jigawa State Governor, Umar Namadi, has announced plans to investigate the claims of achievements made by his Commissioner for Health and Social Development, Dr Muhammad Abdullahi Kainuwa, and the Director-General of the State Youth Employment Agency, Dr Habib Kanya.

The governor stated this during a public engagement programme where members of the public strongly disputed the officials’ claims.

The controversy erupted at the Citizens Engagement Programme held at the Birnin Kudu Township Stadium, where Kainuwa’s presentation was met with widespread disapproval.

Attendees challenged his claims of projects executed in Birnin Kudu LGA, prompting him to abandon his speech and defend himself before the dignitaries, including the governor and the minister of Defence.

Similarly, Kanya faced scepticism as he attempted to showcase his agency’s achievements, with members of the public questioning the authenticity of his statements.

Responding to the public outcry, Governor Namadi assured residents that his administration would investigate the matter thoroughly.

“We will get to the bottom of this,” he vowed, emphasising that transparency and accountability remain top priorities for his government.
