Former Spokesman of the House of Representatives, Abdulrazak Namdas has formally declared his intention to contest the governorship of Adamawa State in 2027.

Namdas made this public when his campaign train visited the All Progressives Congress, APC, party Secretariat in Yola on Wednesday.

Namdas told the state party leadership that as a former federal legislator and promising politician, he feels if the electorate gives him the mandate come 2027 he would be consolidating the laudable achievements recorded by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s administration.

He said during his consultations with his people and supporters,  over 80 percent of the people are in full support of his desire to govern Adamawa state 

He however,pledged to prioritize human capital development, security, education, infrastructure, healthcare, water supply, and rural development not forgetting to empower women and youths if elected. 

On security, Namdas identified farmers-herders clashes as a major concern in the state, assuring that he would pursue sustainable solutions to restore peace and boost agricultural productivity.

He reiterated that his ambition is not a “do-or-die affair,” urging all aspirants to embrace a peaceful and democratic process.

Earlier in his response, the new chairman of the APC in the state, Hamza Madagali expressed gratitude to Namdas:s declaration saying that all aspirants will be given fair and just treatment as a ruling party.

The chairman applauded president Bola Tinubu for providing conducive atmosphere for democracy to thrive which he expressed optimism to be a way to strengthen unity within the party
