NAPTIP arraigns woman for allegedly abusing minor

The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) yesterday arraigned a 38 -year-old woman before an FCT High Court, Apo for alleged abuse of a 14-year-old girl.

The defendant, Joy Okereafor, who works for the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Abuja was docked on a two-count charge of emotional and psychological abuse of a minor.

Upon her plea of not guilty, the trial judge, Justice Valentine Ashi, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N200,000, with one surety in like sum. The case was thereafter adjourned to November 29 for hearing.
