The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has arrested a 29-year-old man for allegedly trafficking a 14-year-old girl to Mali. It was gathered that the suspect, Action Mudiaga, who hails from Uwheru, Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State, was arrested in a midnight operation at the weekend, by the Benin Zonal Command of the agency.

It was further gathered that an attempt to arrest the suspect two weeks ago was unsuccessful as he escaped through the roof and jumped into a river.

The suspect was alleged to have trafficked a 14-year-old primary 5 pupil of Udu Primary School, Uwheru to his sister, Ejiro, in Mali, who equally handed over the victim to one Madam Shakira.
