A Senior Advocate of Nigeria and All Progressives Congress governorship aspirant  Hassan Liman says any attempt to manipulate or give room for political extortions and rights abuse will be resisted.

Speaking at a townhall meeting with campaign coordinators and supporters in Lafia, Liman called for violent-free and credible primaries ahead of the APC governorship selection in Nasarawa State scheduled for later this month.

He said the Nigerian Constitution protects all eligible citizens against actions that breach their fundamental human rights, and warned that any moves to disrupt the primaries would not be allowed.

“No one should give room for manipulation, political extortion and rights abuse,” Liman said. He urged supporters to stand firm in protecting democracy and strengthening inclusion ahead of the 2027 general elections.

 

Liman, who is contesting for the APC ticket for a second time after contesting in 2019, unveiled his agenda titled “A Vision for a Brighter Nasarawa State 2027.”  He promised free education from primary to secondary school in all public schools, as well as improved infrastructure, agriculture, healthcare, security, and human capital development if elected governor.

 

The legal practitioner said he had served the APC and Nasarawa State in various capacities and urged coordinators and loyalists to turn out en masse to vote in the primaries. 

 

“I am fully qualified to contest in the governorship race. As a respected lawyer, politician, philanthropist and Nigerian citizen, I have confidence that by God’s grace, I will take Nasarawa State to greater heights if I am elected as Governor,” he said.a
