He said his administration was doing its best to safeguard the security of people with all seriousness and sensitivity.
He said no stone would be left unturned in fishing out the perpetrators of what he called “senseless and barbaric incident,” and bringing them to justice.
He said the sympathies of the entire nation were with the affected families.
Meanwhile, Chairman, Nigeria Governors’ Forum and Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi, yesterday met with President Buhari over the economic and security challenges.
Addressing reporters later, Fayemi thanked Buhari for approving a fresh N656bn Bridge Financing Facility to the 36 states.
He said the loans by the governors “are very specific and measurable”, adding that each state had outlined what the support would cover.
He said they were meant to address workers’ welfare, infrastructure development, and investment opportunities in states.
The governor said: “If we don’t have the resources, we’d continue to have difficulties in managing people’s expectations.”
He stressed the need to look for creative measures that would allow governments to raise funds to tackle the challenges of infrastructure gap, educational inequalities, and insecurity.
He dismissed as untrue the report that teachers in Ekiti State were now contributing N500 each to pay ransom for Mrs Awoniyi, a teacher of St. Paul’s primary school Ikole Ekiti who was kidnapped.
Fayemi, while speaking on the forthcoming governorship election in his state, said he was only interested in a free, inclusive and fair process as the father of all.
