The Governor of Nasarawa State, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, has commissioned a block of two lecture halls in Federal University Lafia (FULafia) and donated a newly constructed hospital to the institution.
A statement by the university said the 500-seat block of lecture halls was named Umaru Tanko Al-Makura Lecture Hall, in recognition of the governor’s contribution to the university, while the hospital would serve as the university’s teaching hospital.
The hospital is to be known as the Federal University Lafia Teaching Hospital.
While commissioning the lecture halls, Governor Al-Makura stated his unwavering desire to develop the education sector.
The governor pledged to construct a road in the university and fence its permanent site campus.
Prof. Muhammad Sanusi Liman, the vice-chancellor, in his speech, thanked the governor for the many donations which his administration has made to the university.
