The Nasarawa State Government has donated N3 million as part of its contribution for the sustenance of the flagship community newspaper in the state, the Eggon News.
Governor Abdullahi Sule announced the donation at a ceremony to mark the 20th anniversary of the newspaper, held at the Abacha Youth Centre, Lafia, on Thursday.
The governor, who was represented at the event by his Deputy, Dr. Emmanuel Akabe, extolled the newspaper for attaining a milestone of 20 years of community journalism, which has for two decades, given insight to details of national and community life with an Eggon perspective.
“As a token of our government’s gratitude for your inspiring role in society, we wish to contribute a token donation of N3 million to sustain the good works and exemplary professional legacy of Eggon News,” the governor said.
