As part of efforts to contain and control further spread of the dreaded coronavirus, the Nasarawa State Government said it has procured 6000 pieces of Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs), as well as 50, 000 face masks, to be distributed across the state.
Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, disclosed this while addressing the media on the measures being taken to curtail the further spread of the virus.
Specifically, Governor Sule said the government is already in receipt of most of the items purchased for the protection of the people, adding that the state government is in possession of the required number of face masks, as well as the Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs).
Inspecting the commodities at the Lafia Central Medical Store, the Governor gave a breakdown of the items to include 50,000 face masks and 6000 PPEs, including locally manufactured face masks, while other items are also being awaited from Lagos, totalling the sum of over one hundred million naira.
