Nasarawa: Please rescue Cajaah estate residents

We the residents of Orozo Mass Housing Estate otherwise called Cajaah estate wish to raise alarm and call on Nasarawa state govt’s intervention over continued invasion of the estate by thugs.

Lives and property of the residents are under siege by thugs who were hired by a faction of  Cajaah Nig. Ltd., promoters of the estate in defiance to court order to harass and intimidate the peace abiding residents.

We wish to express our worry over the state of impunity of the thugs who display lawlessness and rascality  even in the presence of police men and have resorted to brutality and assault of residents.

We are calling on Nasarawa State government to come to our rescue because we suspect compromise and complicity on the part of the police posted here.

The DPO had failed to implement the court order by a competent court but instead recognized the presence and operations of thugs here. The thugs recently attacked a resident in her house inflicting injuries on both the woman and children which led to the hospitalization of one of the residents.

Residents didn’t commit any crime but simply refusing to be allowed to be scammed by a faction of the Cajaah company, after having spent over N600, 000,000 for infrastructure, meanwhile none of the paid infrastructure was put in place nor the money accounted for.

Mr Yakubu Agi, the DPO of Karishi Divisional has said that the matter is being investigated by the Area Commander of New Karu, Nasarawa State because Cajaah estate is not under FCT but under Nasarawa.

And though Barr Victor Giwa, lawyer to Cajaah Nig. Limited has described the alleged thugs as site officers and that the boys were law abiding Nigerians officially employed by the company to supervise events and activities in the estate, we still solicit for support from Nasarawa state government.
