He said at the award of Certificates of Occupancy (CsofO) to property owners who had waited long for their land titles, that all files, amounting to over 23,000 have entered the computer in a digital programme.
“The era of missing files, or manipulating them has gone. We are in a new era now.
“We are dealing with computer files, such that just a button will sort through and bring up files for us,” Agassi said.
The event was the Town Hall meeting of stakeholders in Lafia, where property owners were informed of the new technology which has brought the ministry implementing international best practices in lands management and administration.
CsofO were awarded to property owners, most of whom had waited a life time to get their certification.
One of the beneficiaries, Yakubu Alahupu, a retired deputy commissioner of police, told the crowd at the town hall that he applied for his certificate in the days of the old Benue-Plateau State and went a step further in 1990, but gave up chasing the certificate. (NAN)
