The Speaker of Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Alhaji Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, has condoled with the first class traditional ruler of Umaisha, in Toto local government of the state, the Ohinmegye of Opanda, HRH Alhaji Usman Abdullahi, over the death of the (Madaki) of Umaisha chiefdom, Alhaji Idris Umar.

A statement by his media aide, Jibrin Gwamna, said the speaker expressed shock and sadness over the demise of the Madaki, who was the second in command in the chiefdom.

He said the speaker, who attended the three days prayer of the deceased last Thursday, described the demise as a colossal loss to the entire Egbura nation and prayed for the reposed of the soul of the deceased.

“The entire people of Opanda kingdom and by extension Egbura nation, has indeed lost a son, they have lost an elder statesman, and his demise, no doubt has created a huge vacuum that will be hard to fill. His fatherly advice  will be greatly missed, May Allah subhanahu wa ta’Allah grant him Aljanatul Firdausi and may he console Ohimegye and the entire people of Opanda,” the statement said.

Responding, the Ohimegye of Opanda, said the late Madaki was his bosom friend right from childhood and eulogized his good virtues, saying the deceased died at the age of 80 years after a brief illness, on January 27, 2020.

The statement added that the three days prayer brought together people from all works of life including the FCT APC State chairman Abdulmalik  Usman,and a renowned business man Architect Abu Seze.
