The Nyiev community in Kadarko area, Keana Local Government Area of Nasarawa State has petitioned the State Commissioner of Police, Lawal Shehu, accusing the paramount ruler of their area, the Osokadoko of Kadaro, Chief Fabian Danjuma Orogu of forcefully allocating their land to buyers from a neigbouring Fulani community.
The petition which was signed by Upahal Tyonum Alima Edward on behalf of Nyiev Community Kadarko Area and copied to the Governor and the DSS, described the action of Osokadoko as a sinister move to cause the breakdown of law and order between two communities, Tiv and Fulani, saying, “The Osokadoko had sent his lieutenants, including district heads and village heads to go to Alima village and show some Fulani some portions of land there to settle on. We the Nyiev community in Kadarko area and its environs request that the chief of Kadarko HRH Fabian D. Orogu’s excesses be checked before he causes a communal crisis.”
Efforts to get the response of the Osokadoko failed because on three occasions, his aid who picked his phone asked for time. He did not call back and did not reply the text message sent to him.
