Sonny Agassi, commissioner in charge of Lands and Urban Development Ministry said at the weekend that the Nasarawa Geographic Information Systems (NAGIS) project has served as the single most reliable internal revenue generation base for the 17-year old state and added that there will be no room for failure in the present administration.
 He said the project has reached only one year of execution, but it has already yielded 42 jobs for graduates across the state, just as it Agassi, who is supervising the totality of the NAGIS, which newly commissioned complex a Mararaba, at the gateway to Abuja, as well as the headquarters in Lafia, have both recruited 42 graduates working there, said a youth group – Nasarawa People’s Congress (NPC) was wrong in its recent claim that Governor Uamru Tanko Al-Makura’s government is not business-like and has not generated jobs for the youth.
 “I do know that in NAGIS alone, we have recruited 42 graduates. By the time we will complete the project in the next one year, the complex in Mararaba alone would have recruited 50 graduates in related professions, and 50 non-professional staffs, to add to the staffs we have already recruited at the Lafia office of the same project.
 “This project, has more than any other initiative of the state since the old Plateau State days, and since our creation 17 years ago, taken advantage of our proximity with Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), to create a robust and dependable revenue base there. The numbers in revenue accruals traceable to this project are there and are made public for every Nasarawa person to see. We are not joking; when we say it is a baby of the governor, we really mean it because the governor has put in everything to make this project a huge success.”
