Nasarawa to punish principals over fees

Nasarawa State government has said basic and secondary education is free in the state and any principal found collecting schools fees from students will have himself to blame.
Commissioner for Education, Ramatu Ajuji Abubakar made this known to newsmen in Lafia. She said that the free education policy being implemented hasn’t changed.
She said, “Students are not supposed to pay any amount of money and any principal caught extorting money from the students in the name of school fees would be sanctioned. Students in all the public boading schools across the state are not also expected to pay money or give any food item as the government has taken full charge of their feeding.”
She said government had provided massive infrastructure in schools.
