Nasarawa United tackle Katsina Utd in Unity Pre-Season Cup semi-final

2021 AITEO cup finalists, Nasarawa United will lock horns with NPFL rivals Katsina United this afternoon in the semi-finals of the ongoing Unity Pre-Season football competition at the Area 3 stadium in Abuja.

The Solid Miners, on Wednesday morning, thrashed FOSLA Academy by 3-0 in their last Group ‘A’ match decided at the FIFA Goal Project field located inside the MKO Abiola National Stadium, Abuja to become the first club to reach the semi-finals.

Nasarawa United have played seven times against Katsina United, recording four victories and three losses in the process.

Chairman of Nasarawa United, Barrister Isaac Danladi has charged his boys not to rest on their oars.

“Our aim is to win the maiden edition of this Pre-season tournament so I have told my players to put in their best against Katsina United.

“It is not going to be easy but my boys are motivated to reach Sunday’s finals,” he said.

In the second semi-final of the day, Wikki Tourists will take on Plateau United.

Both sides have met each other eight times with the Jos side securing 4 wins, 2 draws and 2 losses.

To reach the semi-finals, Wikki Tourists secured their first win of the tourney after a 3-0 win over Capital City.

The tournament had kicked off on Saturday, October 30.
