NASENI, CCB partner on digital asset declaration system

The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) and the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening institutional digital systems, capacity building and technical advisory support.
The agreement, signed on Wednesday at NASENI headquarters in Idu, Abuja, is expected to deepen collaboration between the two agencies, enhance their operations and improve service delivery in line with their respective mandates.
Speaking during the signing ceremony, the Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of NASENI, Khalil Suleiman Halilu, said discussions between both institutions had culminated in the agreement, stressing the need for a sustainable framework to drive the partnership.
He expressed confidence that the collaboration would create opportunities for innovation and institutional efficiency.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the Code of Conduct Bureau, Dr Abdullahi Usman Bello, commended NASENI for embracing the partnership, describing it as a major step towards modernising the bureau’s operations.
Bello said the collaboration would particularly support the digitisation of the asset declaration process and deployment of digital tools for the bureau’s activities.
According to him, the CCB currently faces enormous challenges in administering asset declaration forms to more than five million public servants across the country.
He said digitising the process would improve accessibility, efficiency and overall service delivery, adding that the implementation of the MoU could be a game changer for the bureau.
“The bureau is confronted with the challenge of managing asset declaration processes for over five million public servants nationwide. Digitisation will significantly enhance accessibility and efficiency in the system,” he said.
Also speaking, the Director-General of the Budget Office of the Federation, Mr Tanimu Yakubu, lauded the two institutions for pursuing a partnership aimed at promoting transparency, accountability and good governance.
Yakubu said the mandate of the Code of Conduct Bureau requires modern and reliable technological systems capable of handling large volumes of information, expressing confidence that NASENI possesses the expertise required to support the bureau in achieving its objectives.
