NASENI DG receives NASU fellowship award

The Executive Vice Chairman/CEO of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI), Engr. Prof. Mohammed Sani Haruna  received the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions (NASU) Fellowship Award at its just concluded National Delegates Conference held in Abuja.
 The NASENI Chief Executive was conferred fellowship of the body for superintending over unprecedented technology products development feats and general transformation of NASENI since his assumption of office in 2012.
The national body of NASU said the DG was bestowed with the  award as a result of the giant strides recorded by NASENI in actualizing the dream of the Federal Government toward the attainment of technology advancement of the country.
Prof. Mohammed Sani Haruna was born November 20, 1963. He holds a PhD and masters of engineering degrees in electrical Engineering from Bayero University Kano. He was trained earlier at Plateau and Kaduna Polytechnics for National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) respectively in the same bias. He obtained a Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) in Education and a PGD (Electrical Engineering) from the Federal University of Technology, Akure. He also obtained masters of Philosophy degree in Entrepreneurship from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) Nairobi – Kenya. His second PhD in Entrepreneurship from the same JKUAT is in view.
Prof. Haruna has diverse working experiences which cuts cross industries, academic and government institutions. He worked previously as a Technician, Supervisor, Engineer, Maintenance and Services Manager and Technical Manager with many firms including NASCO Group of Companies, Ikara Food Processing Company, Mainsys Technical, Controlled Plastics Limited, Kano and New Nigerian Printing and Packaging Plc. He is a Registered Chartered Engineer with United Kingdom Engineering Council (U.K), COREN registered; a Fellow of the UK based Institution of Electrical Engineers (FIEE) now the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), a Fellow of Nigerian Academy of Engineering (FAEng),a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (FNSE), he is also Fellow Nigerian Association of Technologists in Engineering (FNATE)among others.
He was a governing council member of Nasarawa State vocational and Relevant Technology Skill Acquisition Board.
He is currently a board member of Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC), the team leader of the Presidential Standing Committee on Inventions and Innovations, a member of presidential task team on development of industrial, Science and Technology Park, and a member task force on implementation of National Science and technology policy and programs of Federal Ministry of Science and Technology among others.
