The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) has urged the Federal Government to support local entrepreneurs to grow and to intensify efforts on innovation and local manufacturing in the country.

The Agency’s consultant, Saleh Adamu Kwaru, made the call while coordinating a Strategic Focus Group Meeting on Made-in-Nigeria Products, designed to promote indigenous technology and local content.

Speaking at the meeting which held in Katsina State, he said the programme was organized by NASENI to improve on production line and acceptability of the locally produced products where data collected, would inform future NASENI interventions.

While speaking on high cost of made in Nigeria products, Mr Kwaru believed that, prices will automatically come down by itself if Nigerians continue to patronize the local products which will make the market expanded.

“Participants have seen the wonders that have been done in Nigeria and something that every Nigerian must celebrate.

“It’s part of the renewed hope agenda of the president which is being championed under the automobile sector by the executive vice chairman of NASENI. This vehicle is an electronic however different from others in other parts of the world because is a hybrid type that goes with PMS and electronic.

A total of 12 products such as Laptop, Smart TV, Microwaves, water dispenser, hydrolic equipment, Hilux vehicle among others, were on display with NASENI promising that a lot of products will come on board.

The meeting drew participants from different backgrounds, mostly producers, manufacturers and consumers of various products in Katsina State.

Since its establishment in 1992, NASENI has created over 200 different products.
