NASFAT to complete N2.5bn mosque, Islamic centre

The Nasrul-Lahi-l-Fatih Society (NASFAT) has restated its determination to complete the N2.5bn mosque and Islamic centre at Aseese village on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.

The mosque under construction has been designed to be a full-fledged Islamic heritage centre and architectural masterpiece.

The project has been divided into four phases, the first phase comprises the main mosque which has the capacity to accommodate 3000 worshippers with outer extension which can accommodate another 3000.

Arch. Abdul-Hafeez Akiode, the Architect in charge of the project, who took journalists round the project with NASFAT officials including the Chief Missioner, Imam Maroof Onike Abdul-Azeez, said there would be four ablution areas which can accommodate 80 users each.

The Vice-Chairman of Aseese Mosque Development Committee, Mr. Alhaji Remi Bello who represented the Chairman, Alhaji Yunus Salihu, said that N300m has been spent on the project, adding that NASFAT would welcome contributions from outsiders as the mosque is for all.

The Chief Missioner, Imam Onike described mosque in Islam as a socio-political and economic centre and a place where Islamic brotherhood is strengthened.
