The Nasrul-lahi-li Fathi Society of Nigeria (NASFAT) has called on Muslims to revive the culture of giving Zakat, adding that it cures social diseases and promotes employment in the society while also increasing the giver’s wealth.

The branch Missioner for NASFAT in Kaduna, Imam Marooph Raji, who made the call during the NASFAT annual Zakat and Sadakat distribution ceremony in Kaduna said Zakat is a form of almsgiving made obligatory for Muslims.

He explained that Zakkat and giving out in charity bridge the gap between the rich and the less privileged as well as empower the vulnerable in the society. The Iman further enjoined Islamic organisations to emulate NASFAT by enlightening Muslims to give out Zakat as directed by the Creator.
