National Troupe seeks collaboration at Arterial

Adejuwon who is attending the 2014 edition of the event between November 12th and 18th 2014 in a release explained that it was necessary to be at the all-important meeting so as to also understand the creative and cultural industries in Africa with a view to identifying areas of cooperation and collaboration with the National Troupe.
He said as an active participant in the creative sector and considering our mission of charting a new course for the National Troupe, I feel it will be necessary to attend this all-important conference which supports the vision of Mr. President for agencies to seek ways of transforming their institutions through collaboration with various institutions.”
Organised by the Arterial Network, a Pan-African Civil Society network of artists, cultural activists, enterprises and others active in the creative sector, the conference also seeks to highlight the role of culture in sustainable development.
In a related development, the National Troupe has concluded plans to embark on a performance tour of Kogi, Ekiti and Kwara states in furtherance of the Troupe’s outreach programme and it is in line with his vision of taking edifying performances that are designed to promote peaceful co-existence and mutual co-operation among the Nigerian people, around the country.
According to the release, the tour, which also aims at creating awareness at the grassroots and recapturing the spirit of information through the traveling theatre, would begin from Kogi before going on to Kwara and Ekiti with the Troupe staging a dance drama, ‘Ajoyo’ (Celebration) during the tour.
