With yesterday’s result, Super Eagles ended the campaign two points behind Guinea who garnered 14 points to clinch the group B ticket to Gabon/Equatorial Guinea.

After Ismael Bangoura’s goal in the first half, Eagles needed to score three to ovartake the Guineans at the top of the group on goal difference and earn an automatic place in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea next year.

However, the Eagles continued to squander the chances that came their way until Victor Obinna and substitute Ikechukwu Uche hit back to put Nigeria ahead but Ibrahima Diallo’s late equalizer confirmed Guinea’s place.

The result sparked off fans protest at the stadium as security personnel had a hectic time trying to put the disappointed fans under control.

Nigeria cannot qualify as one of the two best second-placed teams as Sudan and Libya already have better records.
