The Nigerian Navy, Forward Operating Base, Ibaka, Mbo Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State, has arrested 12 suspected smugglers including a Cameroonian and seized 1,706 bags of smuggled rice worth about N27.2m from them.

Speaking yesterday in Ibaka during the handing over of the suspects and smuggled rice to the Nigeria Customs Service, the Commanding Officer, FOB, Captain Yusuf Idris, said the seized rice was believed to have been brought in from the Republic of Cameroon.
