The Nigerian Navy has commissioned 80,000-litre solar-powered motorised bore-hole in Ka’oje community, Bagudo Local Government Area of Kebbi State.
The Chief of Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla who was officially represented at the event by the Chief of Naval Transportation, Rear Admiral Monday Unurhiere said the water project was another milestone in the Nigerian Navy’s Civil-Military Cooperation initiative.
He said the civil-military cooperation encompasses activities and interactions between the military and civil society and its aimed at achieving tactical, operational and strategic objectives.
He explained that the Special Intervention Quick Impact Project was initiated in 2024 to strengthen the Navy’s CIMIC mandate and support the federal government’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

“The idea behind these quick impact projects is two fold. First, to honour accomplished senior officers by allowing them to make meaningful contributions at the grassroots within communities of their choice and to demonstrate Navy’s commitment to addressing the socio-economic needs of Nigerians and because access to clean water remains a challenge in many parts of Kebbi due to the region’s topography.
Ogalla added that the Navy is working to expand the reach of its CIMIC projects across its operational zones saying communities
He commended Rear Admiral Hamza Kaoje for initiating the borehole project, describing it as a strategic intervention aligned with the needs of the local population.
“This project reflects Kaoje’s sensitivity to grassroots needs and aligns with the core objectives of the Quick Impact Projects and vision of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu”, he said.
Earlier, the Sarkin Bargu Kaoje, Alhaji Mustapha Hassan Adamu Kaoje while conferring the Gamji Bargu Kaoje on Admiral Hamza commended the Navy for its various interventions in Kaoje.
He said the Army had earlier helped in the infrastructural development of the community now he was happy the Navy has constructed 80,000 litres of water project.
The district head called on the military authorities to complete the military base it established in Kaoje, given the fact that the community borders Niger and Benin Republics and might be exposed to security challenges.
