The Technical Committee of Conference Planning (TCCP) of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has said that no fewer than 12,000 lawyers within and outside Nigeria are expected at the 59th edition of the NBA Annual General Conference billed to hold in Lagos between 23 and 29, August this year.
The committee, along with the NBA President Paul Usoro (SAN), made this known on Wednesday at a world press conference held at Aluko and Oyebode Office in Ikoyi, Lagos.
The NBA president said Vice President Prof. Yemi Osinbajo (SAN) and other dignitaries worldwide would be in attendance.
Olumide Apata, member of the TCCP, said as at last Wednesday over 10,000 lawyers have registered for the event.
The Annual General Conference (AGC) with theme, ‘Facing the Future’, will take place at the Convention Centre of Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos; with an adjunctive venue for breakout sessions at the Harbour Point Event Centre, also in Victoria Island, Lagos.
This year, the conference will feature over 30 technical sessions and showcase sessions where subject-matter experts, business leaders and renowned political leaders in various fields of human endeavour will lead conversations primarily aimed at envisioning the future of the legal profession, within the context of a rapidly changing and evolving world, and anticipate the adaptive measures that practitioners will be required to embrace in light of these imminent changes.
