The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has announced that it will inaugurate its newly elected president and executive members by the end of August.
NBA, in a statement by its publicity secretary, Akorede Habeeb Lawal, also announced the congratulatory message of the president of the association, Yakubu Maikyau, to the new executive.
Lawal extended Maikyau’s message to all the candidates who participated in the polls, saying their desire to serve in various positions demonstrates their commitment to make sacrifices and continue to promote the primary objectives of the Bar.
He said, “I am confident that, while they may not have succeeded in getting elected into the offices they contested for, their commitment to be Bar will remain undiluted, and will lend support to those who emerged winners in the quest to build a dynamic Bar.
“This election shall serve as a model not only for subsequent NBA elections but a template that could be considered for the nation at large.”
