NBTI trains 70 Kano youths in fabrication

National Board for Technology Incubation (NBTI), in collaboration with Asimah Investment Limited has commenced training of 70 unemployed youths in Kano state in the fabrication of local stainless machines for processing and preservation of perishable food items.

The manager, Kano Technology Incubation Centre, Engineer Abdullahi Maiturare said the initiative was meant to reduce the rate of unemployment among youths in the state.

He said 70 participants comprising males and females were drawn from the state metropolis with a view to empowering them to be self-reliant.

He said the male participants would be trained in the fabrication of stainless steel machines while female counterparts as operators of the machines for  preservation of perishable food items like tomatoes.

He said at the end of the two-week training the participants would be presented with working tools for sustainability of the project, urging the participants to utilize the opportunity to develop themselves.

He said the board would monitor the beneficiaries after the training to assess their improvements, emphasising that the most serious ones among them would be linked up with some sources of finance to expand their businesses.
