The Nigerian College of Accountancy (NCA), the training arm of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN), has donated a Primary Health Care Centre (PHC) for the over 4,000 people living in Kwall community in Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State.

Speaking at the unveiling of Ooredam Primary Health Centre, the President of ANAN, Rev. Canon Benjamin Osisioma, commended the Director-General of the NCA, Dr Kayode Fasua, for building the health centre.

“When he (Fasua) came to the council in spite of shortage of fund, we promised to support him and today the dream has come to fulfillment,’’ Osisioma said.

He also lauded the community for accepting and living peacefully with the college.

“Any society that does not welcome strangers will not grow. I feel so proud with what I have seen here.

Fasua said building the health centre had been one of the priorities of the college.

“We have tirelessly explored ways of putting smiles on the faces of members of our host communities who have also accommodated some of our students.

“Maintaining a harmonious relationship with them is key to the smooth operations of the college,’’ Fasua said.

He said the health centre is made up of male and female wards with four beds in each; two consulting rooms, maternity room, dispensary, laboratory and two apartments as staff quarters.

The director-general noted that the college had also furnished the facility, procured and supplied basic medical equipment and drugs.   

The Deputy Director, Primary Health Care Centre, Bassa Local Government, Mr Tuma Bukwap, thanked the donors for the project.
