NCAA may lift ban on Azman Air this week
The airline’s operation was suspended on March 16 over serial safety infractions, while a comprehensive audit of the airline was carried out.
Barring last minute change, the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) may this week lift the suspension on operations of Azman Air, one of the major domestic carriers in the country, Daily Trust can report.
In preparation for the resumption of operation, the airline’s management and staff have already put in place measures for a seamless return to the service.

The airline’s operation was suspended on March 16 over serial safety infractions, while a comprehensive audit of the airline was carried out.
The audit report also indicted the airline of violating key provisions of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Regulations (Nig.CARs).
But the airline has immediately implemented the Corrective Action Plans (CAPs) recommended by the audit report.
There are indications that the airline may resume operation this week as the NCAA is set to lift the suspension after being satisfied with the CAPs implemented by the airline.
As of the time of filing this report, there has been no official statement from the NCAA, but a source in the airline hinted that the carrier is ready to resume operations.
Our correspondent also observed that the airline’s counters at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport (NAIA), Abuja and the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos, have been busy.
A staff of the airline, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said, “I can tell you that we are ready to resume operations.
“As you can see we are here holding meeting and putting finishing touches to every preparation to resume operations.
“Actually we are not happy with the suspension, but we accept the decision of the NCAA in good faith. We are ready and full back to continue to serve our numerous customers.”
The airline on its Twitter handle Saturday said it was ready to resume operations, saying flight schedule would be rolled out soon.
