NCC hosts Sensitization Workshop on Code of Corporate Governance tomorrow

The Nigerian C o m m u n i c a t i o n s C o m m i s s i o n (NCC) will tomorrow host a Sensitization Workshop on Code of Corporate Governance for telecommunications industry.

This is consistent with its consultative approach and stakeholders engagement for effective regulatory oversight of the telecoms sector.

The code which was introduced in July, 2014 outlines the minimum global best practices covering processes, procedures and general corporate behaviour for telecommunications players.

As the code transits from voluntary to mandatory compliance framework where monitoring and enforcement become key components, the Commission has invited Operators, Service Providers and Stakeholders to a Sensitization Workshop on the code.

Mr. Dotun Sulaiman, Chairman of the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria (FRCN) is Keynote Speaker, while Executive Vice Chairman (EVC) of NCC, Prof. Umar Garba Danbatta will moderate discussions at the event slated for Renaissance Hotel, Isaac John Street, Ikeja, on Tuesday, August 15, 2017.

Senator Olabiyi Durojaiye, Chairman of NCC Board of Commissioners is the Chief host of the event.
