The Commissioner of NCC Kano State Alhaji Mohammed Batube stated this recently during a courtesy call to the Vice-Chancellor of BUK Professor Abubakar Adamu Rasheed.
Batube went for the visit with other management staff of the organisation.
“By the commission’s standard and our assessment of what we practically observed on the ground, we have no option but to classify BUK’s ICT experimentation as one of the best Centres of Excellence in the field of ICT,” he said.
He said they were impressed by the effort of the varsity in prioritising information technology, both in the area of teaching and research.
He said NCC would continue to support BUK and any other institution that prioritised ICT as part of its social responsibilities to the society.
He noted that the establishment of ICT learning centres, donation of computers and ICT books to BUK by NCC was encouraging, promising to work harder to develop ICT in the country.
