Nigeria Communications Commission (NCC) at the weekend sensitized consumers, service providers and regulators on customer’s right.
The programmed which was tagged “Knowing your right as a telecom consumer” was held for the purpose of addressing consumer related issues.
Speaking during the 17th edition of consumer town hall meeting in Offa, Kwara state, the Director, Consumer Affairs Bureau, NCC, Mr. Abdullahi Maikano, said the programme would also afford them opportunity to educate stakeholders on contemporary issues generating attention in the telecom industry.
Maikano who was represented by deputy Director, Consumer Affairs Bureau, Dr. Femi Atoyebi said “the topic has become necessary in order to help telecom consumers understand their right as major stakeholders in the telecommunication industry.”
Consumers of telecom services who are not satisfied with services rendered to them by their service providers have the right to seek redress by lodging formal complaints to the commission, he said,  reiterating that consumers have the right to fair complaint process and should therefore have a good knowledge of the steps to follow when making complaint.
